Dear Members,
If you haven’t already heard. Our Amateurs Premier team, won their Cup Final, last Sunday.
Thanks to all that came down to watch a “Class act” of football. WDSC played Gwelup in a strong game, right up to the final whistle.
There have been numerous posts and there is also, vision from the Cup Final day, showing highlights of all the games. The best is at the end of the game, showing, how dominant WDSC was in keeping control of the ball and game. This was evident in Stephen Geogheghon, being named, Man of the Match.
Congratulations to Colm Costello, Richie Doyle (Coaches), to their assistants Martyn Kelly, Colin Williams and Tony Prescott. To the Captain Ian Cleary and all of the squad for getting to where they aimed and receiving “Just Reward” for their efforts.
We could go on and describe the game, but their is plenty of that, from an “Unbiased” view, see the cup game highlights below:
Once again. Congratulations to our Amateurs Premier squad.
18’s Division 1 Team
The long soccer season has finally come to an end and we would like to take this opportunity to commend the boys for a job well done. ‘Hard Work and Dedication’ were on show throughout the season with both teams committing to the cause, but it was the introduction of ‘Hunger and Desperation’ that really shone through. The two teams set platforms upon which to build upon next season with some tantalising performances.
Finishing champions of the 18’s Division 1 was no easy feat, but our boys did exactly that at the first attempt (making it 2 leagues won in 2 attempts for those that need reminding). It’s safe to say the bar has been raised very high for seasons to come. Congratulations to Dee and his team of coaches.
Ladies Division 3 Team
The Ladies Division 3 side backed up last years first season in seniors that closed out with the Division 4 title and Golden boot by going back to back. They took both the league title and golden boot again .
The same 18 player squad are achieving the promise and repeating the success they enjoyed as Juniors with many of the current squad being with the same team since 12s back in 2006 .
The coaches Alistair and Ady are delighted to have helped in some small way and they look forward to an assault on Division 2 next season if the ladies all return .
Several members of team will attend the Football West get together later in October to collect their well deserved trophies ahead of the Clubs Seniors presentation night where they will be presented with club trophies. Should be another successful and enjoyable night for the club.
